Besides being Evie's mommy, Amy Moy is an optometrist, administrator, and faculty member at the New England College of Optometry. In her spare time, she and Evie film videos for their YouTube channel "Evie the Extraordinary," to increase representation of children with Down Syndrome on social media. Dr. Moy was bothered by the small selection of books to read on World Down Syndrome Day at her daughter's school, and decided to write one herself. She looks for any opportunity to increase awareness that there are no limits to what someone with Down syndrome can do, and that we should celebrate differences. It is her dream that this book will contribute to changing the culture of how disabilities are viewed by the next generation. Everyone needs an extra flipper sometimes!
