Mary Harboe began her career in journalism as a reporter on a local newspaper in her native Norfolk. A desire to travel took her first to London where she produced in-house business magazines and later to Holland, where she edited a global company newspaper. This was followed by relocation to Africa and then the Middle East. She moved to Spain in the late 1980s and enjoyed some 20 years there as a radio broadcaster. In 2006 she was awarded the Communicator of the Year Award for her series of programmes The Tsunami - One Year On, charting the reconstruction process in Sri Lanka. It was in Marbella - after meeting Jenny Gucci - that Mary became interested in the real story behind the world's biggest fashion house and 'Gucci Wars' was first published in 2008. Three years later she returned to the UK to produce website content for two Harley Street eye clinics. She also retrained as a Celebrant, creating bespoke ceremonies, including weddings, funerals and naming celebrations. With two adult children, and recently re-married, Mary has now returned to her roots in the beautiful Norfolk countryside where she's currently writing her first novel. For more information please visit www.maryharboe.com
