Henry Sipes became interested in space as a child and pursued a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Purdue University. He has conducted numerous astronomy programs for the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other groups since 1990. He was appointed a volunteer park astronomer at the Otter Creek Park Observatory near Fort Knox in 2006 and served as a park astronomer for South Harrison Park, Indiana, for almost a decade. He also served as a NASA Solar System Ambassador and earned a Master of Science in Astronomy from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia.For the past 25 years, Henry has worked as a packaging engineer for a privately held, $1 billion global manufacturer of electronic interconnect solutions, including products used in the aerospace industry.Henry lives with his family on a 25-acre tree farm, raising chickens and honey bees. He is an avid hiker and has backpacked numerous trails around Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and North Carolina, culminating in a four-day trip through the Grand Canyon.
