Weldon Crisman was born in Miller, Indiana now part of Gary, Indiana, during the Depression days (1928). Soon after, his family moved to the country just across the road from his grandfather's farm. It was great growing up in the country. He got close to nature early on. He grew up fishing, hunting, trapping, and hiking. You name it, he's done it all. The author went to a country school with two classes in a room. Weldon always loved great subjects like History and Geography. He has always been an avid reader and is a big country music fan. His family didn't have all the luxuries we have today, but they always seemed to make out! He left school at 17 years old and joined the USMC during World War II and used the G.I Bill and went to college for a year. After a year, he decided to travel to see our great country! That's exactly what he did! It has been a great life and he thanks God every day!
