Kristina Gruell was born in Midlothian, a former farming community in North Texas. Growing up she rode horses, participated in FFA, and danced. After a car accident left her wheelchair bound for eight months and continuing health issues limited her previously active lifestyle, she turned to books and online play-by-post role playing in the early days of AOL chatrooms. Her original stories and first novel attempt were background for her online characters; eventually she began writing stories to entertain her friends to pass around.
