Deya Jacobs-Adams is an innovative educator from Oklahoma City. She holds a B.S, in Radio-Television-Film from Oklahoma State University. In 2019, Deya was named the Teacher of the Year in her district. She is the founder of the non-profit organization, Reaching Unique Beautiful Young Ladies Inc. (R.U.B.Y. Inc.), a mentoring program for girls. Deya believes that learning and reading are FUNdamental for all children. Over her career, she has used creative and innovative teaching techniques to affect positive change to her students. Deya is the the proud mother of two daughters and Sonny's Long Walk Home is her debut children's book.
