J. Tatum Jr. is a screenwriter and author of urban novels. When his daughter, Rylie, was six years old, she announced she wanted to be an "astronaut artist." Because of her unwavering interest in outer space, Tatum began crafting their bedtime stories around adventures in space. After they had so much fun creating one particular story, the author decided to try his hand at turning it into a children's book, Moon Burger, the first of a series featuring Rylie, her Dad, and their fun adventures. As a single African-American father, finding books to read to his daughter that featured characters that resembled them was very difficult. The author started this series in hopes of appealing to other single dads and their kids with similar challenges. J. Tatum, Jr. is a proud alum of Norfolk State University with a degree in Music Media. He currently resides in Atlanta, GA, where he continues to create adventures for adults and children alike.
