Children's book author Michael Ferrone knew that he would one day create illustrated books and cartoons after taking an illustrating and writing class at his local library when he was a child. Coming up with story ideas from life experiences and his imagination, Michael has learned that inspiration can emerge from surprising places and people sometimes. Michael tends to write as if he is creating a television show, with his drafts looking more like scripts. He believes that in every good story, the characters must go through personal journeys and discover something new about themselves in the process; an obstacle usually presents itself, and the characters must find it within themselves to overcome. He hopes that his young readers come away from his books with a sense of self-discovery, community-building, and recognizing the value of positive relationships. When he isn't writing empowering and uplifting stories for kids, Michael and his wife like to take their two dogs-a husky named Frankie and a lab mix named Dax-on adventures where they live in Southern California. He also enjoys learning new things, picking up new hobbies, and working on his Frankenbots cartoon project. More on this quest and his other books can be found at https: //www.frankenbots.co/ .
