Kent Pulliam spent more than 30 years as a sports journalist at The Kansas City Star, reporting on the Kansas City Chiefs, auto racing, Olympic sports, and Kansas State during the football team's glory years of 1997-2001. He won several writing awards from the Associated Press Sports Editors and the Missouri Press Association. During his time covering Kansas State, he discovered the passion that K-State fans have for their school, the pride they take in the success of their teams - and the ferocious protective feelings they display when they believe their teams aren't getting the respect they deserve.
