I have always had a curious nature and been interested in health and well being. I began my career as a Registered Nurse over twenty years ago working in many different areas gaining a basic understanding of how the body and disease works. I found that while the medical model was excellent at treating emergencies and some illnesses it seemed to be lacking in alternatives to medications and surgery as a way to prevent and treat long term health risks and life style illnesses and symptoms, such as- type 2 diabetes, stress, high blood pressure, obesity, depression, anxiety and tiredness. So I started researching and studying looking for answers. While we all have certain genes that predispose us to certain illnesses, not everyone falls prey to these. I felt strongly, like so many others, that a person's health and well being had more to do with their mind, emotions, diet, stress, habits, and life style. I studied modern psychology including Hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to see how the mind and our habits affect our health. I became trained as a yoga teacher for all its health benefits for the mind and body. I studied emotional freedom techniques (EFT)(tapping acupressure points to release emotional blocks) to see the effect of the emotions on health and I am in the process of studying weight loss and nutrition and finding that this is closely linked to all of the above. I have also studied how to grow food organically. I love bringing all this knowledge together to assist my clients to move towards being happy and healthy. I hope that my background and passion can offer you a well rounded approach to looking after your health and happiness. I am very proud to offer my most recent accomplishment. My Book - Doing The Happy Thing. I am currently living my dream life in the beautiful coastal town of Nelson Bay, Australia. My writing desk has 180 degree views across the ocean and I'm only a few meters from the beach and Marina.
