Prudence Emery is the bestselling author of the memoir Nanaimo Girl. Born in Nanaimo and educated in Vancouver, she lived in London and Toronto before moving to Victoria, British Columbia. She has worked on more than a hundred film productions and as the press and public-relations officer at the prestigious Savoy Hotel.
