Max O'Hara turned to writing after thirty years of working in the construction and trucking industries. He grew up reading the Westerns of Louis L'Amour, Elmer Kelton, Max Brand, Elmore Leonard, and Ernest Haycox, among others. It was Jack Schaefer's 1949 classic Shane that really inspired him. What Mr. Schaefer accomplished in 176 pages has never been equaled in American Western storytelling, O''Hara says. He lives in the Midwest USA.
