Deanna Leigh grew up in a small town in Wisconsin. She, her sister and brother were raised by their mother after the untimely death of their father. She learned early to love reading and saw books as friends that took her on grand adventures and taught her about the world far beyond her reach. Her mother was a teacher and one of her aunts, was the school librarian; so, it wasn't surprising that she started writing stories from an early age. After college and working in the medical field for several years, she decided to stay home with her boys and soon began spending time volunteering in her children's school. This led to a shift in careers and landed her in a middle school library where her days were immersed in literature and encouraging students to find that one book that makes reading fun. Deanna's grand adventures in life have included living and traveling overseas, being married to the love of her life, having two amazing sons and being a grandmother, which she says is the best job ever! Her previous book, "Did God Make the Moon?" was a gift for her first grandchild. Deanna loves reading, writing, gardening, being outdoors, animals of all sorts and sizes, and of course, she loves spending time with her family.
