Meeting Chris Mechling in person, it is virtually impossible not to observe he is 6'8", but those who know him a bit better may be aware that despite his height he is rather committed to the idea of never growing up. Among other things, he has been passionate about writing stories since childhood. In May 2013, Chris' debut novel, Peter: The Untold True Story, was published, about the 18th century feral child, Peter the Wild Boy, whom Chris believes was the inspiration for the fairy tale of Peter Pan, and about the girl who perhaps knew Peter best. Now 41 years old, Chris is looking forward to publishing more of his novels, beginning with the simultaneous release of The Black Knight and The Archer, the first two books in his Lancelot epic. In addition to his work as an author, Chris is a painter, pencilist and digital artist. He has also practiced and taught martial arts professionally since childhood, along with his brother Nick. Together, the brothers have taught self-defense for men, women and children, and also taught amateur and professional fighters. Chris is also a part owner in other businesses. He was born and raised in San Diego by the ocean, and has traveled across America, as well as to Japan, Thailand, Russia, Europe, England, and other countries.
