Dr. Chaoqun Zhang is a Full Professor at the College of Materials and Energy, South China Agricultural University, China. Prof. Zhang received his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 2014 from Iowa State University, USA. Following his Ph.D., he served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Sustainable Polymers at the University of Minnesota from 2014 to 2015, and at Texas A&M University from 2015 to 2016, before returning to China. His research interests are focused on vegetable oil-based waterborne polyurethanes, plant polyphenol-based epoxy resins, and carbohydrate-based functional hydrogels. Prof. Zhang has published more than 50 research papers in peer-reviewed journals, has filed more than 10 patents, and has co-edited a book on bio-based plant oil polymers. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Young Scholars Award of Guangdong Province (2018) and the Pearl River Talent Plan (2018).
