L.J. Day, award-winning author of the 2018 Purple Dragonfly awards, was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She married Donald Day and had three beautiful children. She is a Special Education Teacher. She is an advocate for special education and special needs children and gains her inspiration for her writing from her own children and students. She discovered her passion for writing when she embarked on a special project with her oldest son as a way to show him he could accomplish anything he put his mind to. My Special Mind was that special project, which was released in March 2018.
