Karen Bettez Halnon, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor of Sociology at Pennsylvania State University. She is qualitative sociologist who studies political (popular) culture, and has conducted extensive research on shock music, professional wrestling, grotesque television, spring break, and tattooing.
