Albert Azzam (Raleigh, NC) is a member of the IEEE 802.14 working group that is finalizing the High-Speed Cable Modem standard. A 26-year telecommunications veteran (BSEE, Syracuse) and presently with Alcatel, he has served as secretary of the IEEE 802.14 group since its inception. He also served as vice-chair in the signaling working group of T1S1 and has been active in the ATM standardization process for the last 9 years.
