Leila S. O'Brien is a nine-year-old who loves to read and write. She wrote Candy Land is in Trouble! after much encouragement from her parents and her creative writing teacher in the third grade. The story earned her a runner-up award in the Commonwealth Young Writers Competition in 2016 in the 7-9 age category. She was one of the few participants who received an award for their first entry in the writing competition. She is a Principal's Honor Roll student and is from Nassau, Bahamas. One day, she would like to become an author who turns her books into movies. She wants to be a fashion designer too!
