Keith Macky has over 20 years of human resources and change management experience, working in both consulting and tertiary education environments. He has recently Joined Massey University as a lecturer in human resources management (HRM). His current research and consulting interests are in strategic HRM, the impact of organisational downsizing on employee attitudes, employee retention strategies and the application of information technology to HRM. Prior to joining Massey University, Keith was a manager with Cap Gemini Ernst and Young New Zealand Ltd. Before that, his career roles included serving as a lecturer in HRM and as an assistant dean at the University of Auckland, and working as a senior consultant in organisational development (OD) with KPMG. For many years he was the principal of his own consulting firm, offering services in human resource management, OD and evaluation research.
