Phyllis Uzelac entertained her five siblings with late-night ghost stories for years. She studied nursing at Purdue University and practiced in the health care field for over twenty years, where she experienced the wonders of new life and the mystery of death. She presently resides in northwest Indiana with her husband Ted and two small dogs. Her first novel, Roaming Spirits, was published in 2005. Don't Play With Emily was inspired by an actual event.
