Dawn Pape planted her first garden in the third grade and hasn't stopped since! With undergraduate degrees in Education, German Literature, and Environmental Studies, she went on to receive her master's in Environmental Education. For the past couple of decades, she has worked as a high school teacher, at a non-profit helping schools develop school-based nature centers, and as an environmental education coordinator at a watershed district before starting her own environmental education consulting company. She's been a Ramsey County Master Gardener since 2000 and is also the author of seven other natural resource-related books, including A Lawn Chair Gardener's Guide, Mason Meets a Mason Bee, Thank You, Bugs!, and many others.
