Etaine Norris Raphael was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She now lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, Marc, and their two daughters, Madeline and Charlotte.
Etaine is a physical therapist by education, but she has greatly enjoyed delving into the world of writing and illustrating children's books. Her daughters are involved in every step of the process, and they are currently working on their next manuscript together.
Etaine's father-in-law retired and moved to Mount Desert Island, Maine in the 1980's. He lived in Southwest Harbor""on the "Quiet Side" of the island""until his death in 2014. He always believed that such a serene spot encouraged spiritual rejuvenation. His cabin""now aptly named Blueberry Field Cabin""is where Etaine and her family spend their summer vacations. In fact, the family has a "countdown to Maine" at the start of each school year, and the anticipation builds to a full on fever pitch by late spring!
