Ana Garcia Bergua (Mexico City, 1960) is the author of novels such as Purpura, Rosas Negras, Isla de bobos, and Fuego 20, as well as several short story collections. Her novels have been published in Spain and France and her stories have appeared in magazines and anthologies in Mexico, the United States, France, Slovenia, Cuba, Spain, Panama, and Germany. In 2016, she was awarded the Premio Nacional Colima de Narrativa Publicada for La tormenta hindu.
