DARIA SAPENDO is a journalist who submitted her story to this anthology from the Russian-occupied Donbass region of Ukraine. The editors lost contact with her during production. She is remembered here for her bravery and perseverance. DAVID J. DOESSER, a former intelligence officer of the Hungarian external secret service, graduated from the ELTE University faculty of law. He spent almost 30 years in the intelligence service and was assigned first to Western jurisdictions and later on to Central Europe. When the "old regime" collapsed, he took part in transforming the service into a democratic institution and established successful cooperation with many major Western services. He left the service in 2000. He is married and has two children, and now lives in an undisclosed location in the EU. GRAHAM THOMAS has lived and worked in the UK, Hong Kong, Dubai, Bahrain, and currently, Cyprus, specializing in corporate finance and financial investigations. He also writes media articles on corporate financial corruptions, including money laundering. FERGAL PARKINSON is a communications consultant and former news journalist with more than 20 years' experience. As a North American correspondent for the BBC he was part of the award-winning team which reported from New York following the 9/11 attacks. He has also covered many of the major domestic and international stories in recent years including the death of Diana, the war in the Balkans as well as the buildup to the Iraq and Afghanistan conflict. In 2007 he established his own consultancy and has helped clients protect their corporate reputation and communicate clearly in a wide range of situations around the world. NICK EADEN at the age of 21 Nick was recruited into a covert special forces unit to track and trace high-value terror suspects internationally. Since leaving the service Nick has utilized his former training to discover illicit money flows being syphoned through offshore structures to nominee subsidiaries, often for the benefit of malign state actors. Nick's recent experiences have focused on conducting investigations in the Middle East, Africa, Russia, and South America.
