Sally Worrell's interest in Roman archaeology emerged when objects were discovered on a Roman roadside settlement that her father farmed in Lincolnshire. This interest developed further with her BA and MA degrees at Durham University, and was followed by her work on the Romano-British Glass Project at Durham. Working on the Portable Antiquities Scheme, Worrell was the Hampshire Finds Liaison Officer 1998-2002, and her current role as National Finds Adviser- Prehistoric, Iron Age and Roman Artefacts 2002 onwards.
