Sam Kitoko is Adelaide based visual artist and illustrator, Angolan born Belgian bred, Australian citizen. Sam speaks fluently English, French and Portuguese. He has had passion for drawing and illustrating since childhood when growing up in Angola and Belgium where he completed his secondary studies before coming to Australia as refugee in the late 1980. Since then he has pursued his career in arts after completing a diploma of Fine Arts at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1992. As a passionate artist he has exhibited his work through several Art Galleries of Australia most of which were government funded in support of diversity in Australia. Sam has been inspired by the iconic comics he often read as a child such as, les Aventures de Lucky Luke, les Aventures de Tintin, les Aventures de Buck Danny etc. He has also published books of own artworks compilations. Troy and Dean, volume one is his first comic book which he intends to continue to develop with future episodes.
