Andy McDonald grew up in the Ottawa Valley. He has lived in Boston, San Francisco and Vancouver. He studied nursing at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. He holds an Honours Social Sciences Degree at Simon Fraser University and a Certificate of Criminology at Memorial University. He also completed two years of graduate studies in anthropology at McMaster University. When not writing, he works as a medical technician. His previous books are two anthologies of poetry: A Liminal Path (2009) and Deformed Shadows Along Louisa Street (2010). He is a supporter of Women's Legal Education and Action Fund, and an activist in women's marches, environmentalism and milliontrees.ca. He currently lives in Hamilton. Off Limits is his first novel.
