V.J. Trolio began instructing and coaching golf in 1999. He became a PGA member in May of 2007 and serves as a teaching professional at Old Waverly Golf in West Point, MS. Old Waverly has been the host to the 1999 USGA Women's Open, 2006 USGA Women's Mid-Amateur and the USGA Women's Amateur in 2019. Trolio's awards include: Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor's in America '14 - '18, Golf Digest Best in State '16 -'18, PGA Gulf States Teacher of the Year '08, '10, '17, PGA Gulf States Player Development Award '15, '16, PGA Gulf States Junior Golf Leader '11, '13, Golf Digest Best Young Instructors in America '10 -'12. As a player Trolio graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi, where he was the first in the school's history to qualify for NCAA post season play as an individual. Trolio would win three section Assistant's Championships, '07 Mississippi State Open, and finish runner up in the '03 PGA Assistant National Championship. As a coach, players on the prestigious Palmer Cup Team, Curtis Cup Team, and PGA Jr. Ryder Cup team were instructed by Trolio.
