Dr. Mukesh K Dhillon is a Principal Scientist - Entomology at the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. Prior to joining the IARI he worked for ICRISAT during 2002-2009, where he has been working mainly on host plant resistance, insect-plant interactions and non-target effects of genetically modified crops. Currently he is working on insect diapause and insect-plant biochemical interactions. He has authored over 70 research publications mostly in reputed international journals, and about 40 book chapters. He is recipient of the Jawaharlal Nehru Award for Postgraduate Agricultural Research of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, DEF Young Scientist Award of The Academy of Environmental Biology, Best ICAR-AICRP-Rapeseed Mustard Team Award 2017 byICAR-AICRP on Rapeseed Mustard, Prof. T.N. Ananthakrishnan Senior Scientist Award for the biennium 2016-2017 by T.N. Ananthakrishnan Foundation. He is a fellow of National Academy Agricultural Sciences, Plant Protection Association of India, Academy of Environmental Biology, Entomological Society of India, and life member of several scientific societies.
