Lynne McFall is the author of two acclaimed novels, The One True Story of the World (Grove/Atlantic, INC, 1990) and Dancer With Bruised Knees (Chronicle Books, 1994), as well as a philosophical study of Aristotle's view of Happiness. Her honors include two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, a Stegner Fellowship from Stanford University, and a Michener Award from the Iowa Writer's workshop. Her second novel was named a New York Times Notable Book. She has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh, and has taught at Dartmouth, the University of Texas at Austin, and Syracuse University.
