Mackenzie Snell is currently a student at Camas High School in Camas, Washington where she is in the Math, Science, and Technology Magnet program. The program features rigorous courses and a research pathway that culminates in an internship experience. Mackenzie is passionate about brain research and understanding more about how Micah's brain works. She has integrated this passion into her classwork. She has completed in many different science competitions including ImagineTomorrow at Washington State University. Mackenzie is a member of the National Honor Society and also competes on the Knowledge Bowl team. Mackenzie also works for the community education program in her community mentoring children through camp activities during the summer. Mackenzie loves to play soccer, which she does both competitively and for fun. Her soccer club team recently won the President's Cup for the state of Oregon and competed in the western regionals. She also plays soccer and basketball as part of the Special Olympics Unified Sports Program. Mackenzie loves supporting athletes on the Unified teams, helping them discover the joy of being a part of a team and playing together. In addition to playing sports, Mackenzie is a passionate sports fan and along with Micah roots for the Seattle Mariners, Seattle Seahawks, and Gonzaga Bulldogs. Even as a busy teenager, Mackenzie always makes time to spend with Micah. One of Micah and Mackenzie's favorite activities is working together to play musical instruments like the ukulele and piano. They also share a love of musicals and listening to the soundtracks together. A recent highlight for them both was getting to attend Hamilton. Mackenzie loves to help children with disabilities which is one of the many reasons she thinks that she is fortunate to have a brother like Micah. She plans to become a doctor so she can continue to help people. She hopes this book inspires others to make a difference and reminds people that anything is possible.
