June Callwood is an author, journalist, humanitarian, and outspoken activist, who has founded and co-founded more than fifty organizations, including in Toronto the AIDS hospice Casey House; Jessie’s Centre, a drop-in and education centre for teenage moms, dads, and their babies; and Nellie’s Hostel for Women. She is the author of twenty-nine books, including Twelve Weeks in Spring; Jim: A Life With Aids; The Sleepwalker; and June Callwood’s National Treasures.
