COSTANTINO BRESCIANI TURRONI (1882-1963) was a celebrated, twentieth century Italian economist and statistician who spent much of his life teaching and writing. Thanks to an appointment to the post-World War I Reparation Commission and work on the Dawes Plan, Turroni was able to gain exceptional insights into the consequences of the depreciation of the German mark between 1914 and 1923, leading to the Great Depression, the rise of Fascism, and World War II.
