Prof. Anshuman Patra completed his Bachelor's of Engineering from Indian Institute of Engineering science and Technology, Shibpur, (Formerly Bengal Engineering and Science University) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in 2006 and Master of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in 2009. He has won several awards such as University medal in Bachelor's of Engineering, Indranil award from MGMI Kolkata and scholarship such as Merit Scholarship from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur and MHRD scholarship. He is a life member of Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) and Powder Metallurgical Association of India. He has several international publications in journal, conference proceedings and reviewer of reputed international journal. He has 6 years of industrial experience in various fields such as production and quality division of Ductile Iron pipe Industry, Research and Development Department of Aluminum Rolling Industry. During his industrial tenure he was intensely associated with projects such as ductility improvement in DI pipes, foil stock quality improvement etc. He has joined as an Assistant Professor in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Orissa, in 2014. His scientific interests include nanomaterials, spark plasma sintering, advanced high temperature materials and ODS alloys. His major research attention involves fabrication and characterization of high temperature ODS alloys for nuclear and defense applications.
