Aruna Tripathy obtained her Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication from the then University College of Engineering, Burla (now known as Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, VSSUT) in 1990. Immediately after, she worked in a core telecom company manufacturing telephones and exchanges for about four years. She obtained her Master's degree and Ph.D. from IIT, Kharagpur. She has been in the teaching profession thereafter for nearly twenty three years in various capacities. She has taught UG courses on a number of subjects including the optoelectronics and PG courses on mainly communication related subjects. She has a number of publications in international journals, conferences. Her current interests include various physical layer aspects of wireless communication and optical character recognition.
