Alma Hogan and her husband, John raised two children and are blessed with six grandchildren. Their grandchildren, Sydney and Ireland Hogan along with Eden and Makai Miggins acted as illustrators for this book. As retired high-school teachers, Alma and John have a world of experience in dealing with adolescent and pre-adolescent issues tied to self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. They've watched as these issues have grown even more complicated and prevalent over the years, due, in large part, to the pressures of social media. They created this story as an important reminder for young people to appreciate who they are and stop comparing themselves to others.

Alma and John live in Windsor, Ontario.
