Born in the Netherlands, author/photographer Wim Tewinkel studied forestry in Holland, spent three years in Kenya, and then immigrated to Canada. He eventually settled with his wife Mary Jo, in the mountains of British Columbia, Canada, where he worked as a forester. He is also a martial arts teacher and visual artist.
