Saif Uddin was born and raised in East London. During his upbringing in the heart of the slums of London he witnessed many walks of life, from gang culture and street fights to knife crime and muggings. Saif vowed to one day work with the younger community to build a better environment for those coming from less privileged backgrounds. The Pacifist's Sword is part of a series of novels that aims to address social, cultural, economic and political issues faced by British ethnic minorities on an everyday bases. Today he works as a history teacher in East London and has grown an influence among the youth, he holds classes and workshops for writers and features as a public speaker at events.
