Stephanie Burgis grew up in East Lansing, Michigan, but fell in love with Regency England when she discovered the novels of Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer. Her book A MOST IMPROPER MAGICK won the Waverton Good Read Children's Award. It was also chosen by Booktrust for its 2012 Bookbuzz book-gifting scheme for Year 7 students across the UK. In addition, it was longlisted for the Branford Boase Award and for the British Fantasy Award for Best Fantasy Novel. Stephanie decided to be a writer when she was seven and sold her first short story when she was fifteen. She lives with her husband - fellow writer Patrick Samphire - their son, and their dog in Wales. Visit her at www.stephanieburgis.com or on Twitter: @stephanieburgis.
