First launching his creative writing career as a screenwriter, William's debut novel, Someone to Watch Over, based on his original screenplay, won the Women's Fiction Writers Association's 2019 Rising Star Award.The yet-to-be-produced screenplay of Someone to Watch Over has won film festival screenwriting competitions across the country and placed as a quarterfinalist in the internationally competitive Nicholl Fellowship Program sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. His screenplay for the coming-of-age family film Captiva Island featured Academy Award-winner Ernest Borgnine. The movie was distributed in thirty-six countries, was translated into four languages, and aired domestically on HBO Family. William was born in Augusta, Georgia, and grew up in Fort Myers, Florida, along the Gulf of Mexico. He began writing professionally after graduating with honors from the University of Florida's College of Journalism & Communications. He spent his formative writing years living between Georgia and Florida, and he now lives and writes in Seattle, Washington.
