Joan Conning Afman graduated from the University of Hartford Art School with a BFA in fine art. She taught art in the Hartford school system, then retired to sunny Florida. She keeps up her love for art by painting and exhibiting in local art shows, but also pursues her new found love of writing. "Sacrifice at Mystery Hill" is her fifth published novel. Addicted to and fascinated by all aspects of the paranormal, Joan's novels often echo these ideas, which she hopes will encourage readers to be more aware of the invisible, spiritual worlds all around us. Joan has four grown children and six beautiful grandchildren. Retirement is a wonderful time of life, especially when surrounded by blue skies, an ocean, and palm trees. Life is good.
