I grew up reading the Hardy Boys at around age 7. An avid reader all my life I was particularly addicted to Robert B. Parker's, 'Spenser' series. The dialogue in those books, between Spenser and Hawk, to me was poetry and heavily influenced my own approach in writing dialogue. Something that I've been told over and over is how readers appreciate my inclusion of 'everyday activities' and weave those into the story. I take very few liberties in my writing with the occasional one with Darlene Phillips. As far as Styles' fight scenes, they are based on either what I have done myself, or seen done by others.
