Mike Newell's poems have appeared in Beyond Baroque, Buffalo Spree, Tightrope, The DeKalb Literary Arts Journal, New Poetry and Sulfur. In addition to No Bottom, he has published three books of poetry, including underground Fires, The Unlived Life and Aestivation. Now retired after 22 years of teaching at-risk students, Mike also served as a wildland firefighter in Alaska for the Bureau of Land Management and the United States Forest Service.
