Paul Ekert has been in the video editing business, in various roles, for the better part of 20 years. He has worked for some of the big firms, including Avid, and has produced four books on video editing, a number of which were translated across the globe. He has also produced various in-house publications that have been supplied with release CDs of major video editing applications. Paul has a clear understanding of how to take complex workflows and reduce them to their core, and then explain them in easy-to-read stages, enabling readers and students to understand intricate applications in a very short time.Paul is also a keen filmmaker and writes many of his own scripts. Examples of his written and visual work can be found on his website at http://www.PaulEkert.com. Paul considers himself to be a technical author, an IT trainer, a freelance writer, and a creator of cool stories, but not necessarily in that order. When not explaining how to use a video editing system, Paul can be found creating various video projects, editing multi-cam concert footage, trying to make “not so good” footage shine and making the odd animated film! Recently Paul wrote and published his first Kindle book; Ordinary Monsters, available from Amazon.
