Sandy O'Shaughnessy had two moments of impact. In 1998 her husband was diagnosed with an aggressive bone cancer. Five months later her mother was severely paralyzed in a car accident. Her mother died in 1999 and then a year later in 2000 she lost her husband leaving her an only parent to two young children. Just recently, Sandy lost her Dad and her father-in-law. She holds a master's degree in Pastoral Ministry with an emphasis in bereavement, and feels called to minister to those who mourn. In addition to being Co-Founder and Servant-Leader of Good Mourning Ministry, she works at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church as a Director of Religious Education. Together, John and Sandy have four children, Eric, Collin, Morgan and Ryan, as well as daughter-in-law Kim and their newest addition, granddaughter Claire Ann. Their home parish is Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church in Plymouth Michigan.
