Lilly Barnes is the author of A Hero Travels Light, a book of interrelated short stories published by Oberon and of the novel Mara, published by Variety Crossing Press. Mara is the spine of the literary/music event called Jazz for Mara. Lilly Barnes is also the author of five books for children, and of poems published in seven editions of Variety Crossing Anthologies. She was an Arts Journalist for CBC radio for many years, as well as senior script writer for the Mr. Dress-Up show for which she received the 2007 Gemini Award: the Margaret Collier Award for writing, for Outstanding Body of Work. She lives in downtown Toronto, in an old house full of stories and music.
