Karen Gorback is a prize-winning author of numerous short stories and memoirs. She has also written several one-act plays selected for production at a Southern California theater festival. Her novel Freshman Mom tells the story of a single parent who goes back to college to build a better life for herself and her family. The book won the USA Regional Excellence Book Award in its category for the Western Region and was a finalist in the Readers Favorite Book Awards.
