Over the past 30 years, Robert Rahula has published dozens books of prose and poetry in Spain and in the United States. While he remains relatively undiscovered in the United States, he is revered in Spain as the founder of the "portilla" style of popular Spanish poetry: non-metered fluid verse that deals with love, loss, bisexuality, separateness, and growing older. Robert was born in Spain to an American father and Spanish mother, but grew up in Virginia on the farm of his paternal grandparents. He returned to Menorca, Spain, in the 1960s to pursue his writing career. These days he travels in Europe, Central and South America for several months a year, giving readings and lectures, and spends the rest of his time writing, dividing his time between Spain and the United States. All of Robert's English books are available through Amazon Kindle, including his groundbreaking erotic novel Messieurs; his second English novel Panamaniac; his erotic murder mystery Island of Misfits; his surreal novel Day Another Paradise In; his acclaimed supernatural novel One Last Fling; his "sexistential" novel Conversations in a Belgian Bar; as well as his three "Dan Landes Mystery" novels: Bathhouse Stories, All the Yage in Reno, and Exigent Circumstances. Seven volumes of Robert's English poetry are also available on Amazon: Trigger Points; Inside the Locked Heart; Camino; Migration; I Sing the Body Politic; Wonderland; From Whose Bourn; an anthology of his English poems and short stories, Half-Life; and a collection of his most famous Spanish poems, Poemas Espaoles. Other poems, along with his blog on writing and his tour itinerary, appear on his Facebook page and on his website robertrahula.com.
