Heather Avis, founder of the hit Instagram account The Lucky Few and author of a book by the same name, is on a mission to create a more inclusive world with an emphasis on shifting the Down syndrome narrative. After working as an education specialist teaching high school students, she became a full-time mom to three beautiful children, Macy, Truly, and August. Avis currently lives in Southern California, where she makes oatmeal, participates in daily dance parties, blogs, shares photos of her kids with the world, reads cookbooks for fun, and believes that essential oils will cure all ills.
